History of Black Wealth Summit/Wealth Tour
This is the 3rd year of the “Black Wealth Summit” (BWS). In the fall of 2015, Black Wealth Summit Founder, Jevertus Burnett, has a vision to create a National event that would equip men and women of color with the tools, rules, and strategies needed to accumulate wealth, preserve wealth and transfer that wealth efficiently. Burnett, a former high school finance teacher saw first hand how proper education around finances and money shifted behavior and that when given proper information people made better decisions. In April 2016 the first of a series of small regional financial workshops geared towards financial literacy and education began. We would tour 8 to 10 cities throughout the southeast and would host 50 to 70 participants as we dove into basic financial principles and built up to wealth building strategies.
During 2018 Wealth tour in Columbia, SC Mr. Burnett had the vision to expand the Wealth Tour by bringing together individuals of color of all social economic backgrounds to focus on building wealth within the African American community and doing our part to narrow the wealth gap, encourage group Economics, highlight successful black professionals and. Haines owners throughout the country, and build a strong network allowing us to invest in ourselves and our communities while being able to be and find mentors to foster growth and a greater since of community. Thus The Black Wealth Summit was born. The BWS is designed to equip participants with actionable strategies and particle tools that can be used to accumulate, preserve, and transfer wealth efficiently.
Our objective is to empower professionals to maximize their professional potential, equip entrepreneurs to grow their businesses as well as their influence, share sales ideas and techniques that will take individuals in sales to the next level, and challenge families to position themselves to build wealth and leave a legacy. This will be accomplished by keynote speakers, panel discussions and breakout sessions where we cover: Growth in Corporate America, Investment planning, Life Insurance planning, Entrepreneurship, Real Estate Investing, Family Legacy Planning, Tax planning and so much more. Going into our third year of the summit we have funded $20,000 in grants to help small businesses buy equipment and scale, seen 11 businesses started and remain open, 17 new real estate investors, and over 300 participants motivated and inspired to take control of their money journey and financial future. This years summit guarantees to be the best yet and we can’t wait to see you all in October!
